Welcome to Chocolatefrenchfries!

I realized recently that we all, yes, everyone, stress eat. Some choose chocolate on french fries (my personal favorite), some choose popcorn with chili powder, some choose tubs of buttercream frosting. But, the fact remains, everyone self medicates in one form or another.

Just the other day, while sitting in the waiting room of a hospital, waiting for my Mom to come out of surgery, I was daydreaming about how I would ‘trash myself’ when I got home. It went something like this:

Walked in the door, went to the pantry and grabbed the only chocolate that was in the house: semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Threw them into a bowl and microwaved until they were soft, smooth and deliciously creamy. I then went to the pantry to see what else I could add to this deliciousness. Kashi cereal! Of course! I dumped the cereal into the melted chocolate, stirred and ate! … until it was all gone and I was licking the sides of the bowl. Ah, I felt instantly better!

This blog will be about being honest and sharing your most delicious, most ridiculous stress food recipes. I think it only fair to share these with the world. Why should you, me or anyone else have a fantastic indulgence and not share it with the rest of our stressed out society?

Now tell me, and be honest, what did you eat yesterday and what or who made you do it??

  1. This is a GREAT idea! And you are completely right . . . we ALL self-medicate under stress. I’m looking forward to hearing how everyone else trashes themselves under these conditions. In the meantime, I’ll have to think about my personal favorite, and report back later.

    And again, great idea!

Okay, in order of preference: Chocolate (always an excellent first choice, I believe), really salty potato chips, macaroni salad, and to be sure I get my protein: peanut butter!

I think I’d have to go with some French bread, lots of wine and some sharp cheese, but usually I only have the wine & cheese in the house:-)

This has truly been a stressful week hasn’t it? Well…I know this is about food but…smoking helps me with my stress, and a glass of wine. Food…it would have to be ice cream; preferably, mint chocolate chip. Great idea with the chocolate and cereal though! :) Love you!

Well, I would say my favorite stress food is french fries, but any kind of junk food would work. Wine is something I turn to when stressed. I think another reason I eat junk food sometimes is not because I am hungry, it is because I am bored. Just the other day, I had a candy bar at work because I was bored!!!!

I Love this Blog, what a great idea…

My favorite stress foods… Big Mac, large fries and diet drink, if things are really bad… MILKSHAKE – Vanilla or chocolate.

Or, Culver’s Double swiss mushroom burger, onion rings and same goes if really bad a shake instead of diet pepsi

Sometimes an Arby’s Jamoca shake will do if the stress is not REALLY BAD!

Or, if I am home, Hagendaaz or Dove ice cream out of the carton wrapped in a towel to protect my hands from the cold. No sense eating ice cream unless it is the ‘good kind’!
